DescriptionThe image is that of an aged male figure standing in a bank of flowers; the slightly stooped figure is turned toward the left edge of the support so that the face and body are in profile. The figure has white hair, white beard and holds a pair of secateurs in his right hand; he is clothed in a long-sleeved white shirt, dark green vest and a fedora style hat. The background is completely covered with the green leaves of flowering shrubbery dotted with pink roses above his head, red flowers in front and behind him, and yellow roses in front of his right shoulder.
