BiographyCard, William Royden (1952-), of Provo, is a native of Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He is also a powerful and talented printmaker (woodcuts) and oil painter who specializes in stylized landscape subjects and religious themes. Card and Jenni Christenson [q.v.]) had a 1997-98 show at the Salt Lake City Arts Council's Art Barn. Then, according to the summer 1997 issue of "City Arts," the newsletter of the Council: "[We are] pleased to announce the selection of 14 proposals for artists' exhibitions. ...Artists chosen to exhibit in the Finch Lane and Park Galleries are as follows:... Royden Card, "acrylic paintings and woodcuts:" a series of landscapes and southwest church paintings and woodcuts inspired by red rock deserts of the southwest and using the paint to craft poetry for the eyes."
