DescriptionThe image is a winter landscape with a body of water that begins in the center foreground and extends into the center background; snow covers the flat open ground on both sides of the water with areas of bare ground showing and clumps of grasses breaking through. A line of wooden fence poles can be seen in the middle ground on the left side of the bank while large bare shrubs and a lone bare tree can be seen on the right. The horizon line is edged by trees in the distance with the faint silhouette of a mountain range below the yellow sky the recedes into purple tones.
