DescriptionMs. Gough's "disturbing" installation includes 33 airplane passenger sixe pillows stuffed with human hair suspended to visually appear as three staircases of a tripod formation. Each staircase is made up of 11 pillows. Postcard scenes of Utah desert places and Utah insects will be printed (faded out) on the surface of each pillow. Pillows will have fringes made out of human hair.

A bright spotlight will shine between the pillow "staircase" down to the floor, to a trembling cocoon and to two old fashioned medical-looking monitors sitting side by side upon a medical stainless steel trolley.

One monitor will constantly depict an irregular heartbeat. The other monitor will show a loop of the following: fuzzy footage of someone with a pillowcase over their head running toward then away from the camera in a lightly forested area (The Domain, Hobart, Tasmania). The footage will then cut to someone lying on the forest floor with their hair emerging through tiny holes in the pillowcase. Then the footage cuts to fuzzy TV waves and finally to a black and white dead-screen.

Standing adjacent to the monitors will be a hospital bed/trolley with one of its sides in the down position. This hospital bed/trolley will appear to have been used and as if someone has just gotten off the bed. Near the trolley, a spot on the wall will be illuminated to reveal a slight crack through which a piece of floral, lacy-edged-curtain will be creeping out-- as if from an alternitive universe.
