DescriptionAn organic 3-dimensional shape made out of vinyl (31" H x 32' W x 26'D), echoing a landscape fomation from Y Mountain, will be arranged on the floor just below the stairs. At floor level, audiences will be able to interact with the soft, furniture-like shapes and study the photographs of the urban and natural landscape printed upon the vinyl. From the stairs, or elevated perspective, the shape takes on an appearance of a tree, and the photographs blur to appear like vegetation. A video monitor installed on the staircase will display the actual landmark the shape was taken from. The audio will be a recording or live transmission of localair safety controllers. The aerial perspective affords the audience a view of both "landscape" and the viewers below--a position of knowledge=information.
