DescriptionThe image is a landscape executed in an Impressionistic style; the foreground consists of a large, flat field of dry grass or grain in golden tones with the suggestion of a rutted road beginning in the lower left and traveling diagonally to the right middle ground. In the right middle ground there is a row of cylindrical haystacks with cone shaped tops and two tall cypress trees; in the left middle ground two addition haystacks can be seen. Through an opening in the center middle ground another flat, golden field extends into the distance meeting a horizon line that contains the silhouettes of green trees; the sky is atmospheric with clouds.
