DescriptionThe image is a sculpture of a Native American figure riding a horse; the figure is about to spear a buffalo. The figure holds the reins high in his right hand, coiled in a circle, in his left hand he holds a spear, poised to throw at the buffalo. The bottom half of the spear is broken off. The figure has two braids, wears feathers on the back of his head and moccasins on his feet; he leans to the left of his horse with his mouth open. The horned buffalo charges the horse, causing it to rear on its back legs. The piece sits on a marble base.On View
