DescriptionThe image is a desert landscape scene of a Native American female figure and several animals on the left and a tree on the right. The foreground is composed of dirt, clumps of wild grass, and fallen tree branches. The tree on the right occupies a fair majority of space; its branches extend beyond the top and right sides of the work. Its trunk is dark brown and it has green leaves on top. There are three goats to the right of the tree and one just to the left of it, facing away from the viewer. The female figure on the left half of the work is standing with a palomino horse; both are facing right in profile view. The horse has a bridle, a saddle, and a saddle blanket on. There is a colt standing near the back of the horse. The female figure is clothed in a bright orange shawl and a blue skirt. Her hair is pulled away from her face. In the background there are more goats and clusters of sagebrush as well as mountains in the distance. The sky is light blue and has large, white cloud formations. On View
