DescriptionThe image is an interior domestic scene with a female figure darning as she gazes down at a sleeping infant figure in a cradle to the right. The female figure's hair is covered by a head wrap and her face is in profile; she is clothed in a bodice that fastens asymmetrically and a skirt. The female figure has a sock on her left hand and a needle and threat in the right hand. The infant sleeps in a hooded cradle with blankets covering it up to its chin. There is a window ledge to the right of the cradle with a potted plant visible on the far right. On View
