DescriptionThe image is dominated by a group of unsaddled horses (though the white one in front is wearing a bridle) being herded from behind by three mounted male Native American figures, the one nearest the viewer with a rope or whip extended above his head. All are moving from the left to the right of the canvas. Behind the movement, sandstone cliffs rise up to form the background; in the upper left corner a patch of blue sky with stars can be seen.On View
