DescriptionThe image is a waterscape, with a few branches of land extending into the water from either side of the work. In the background, the horizon is composed of what appears to be a line of trees and a mountain rising behind them. Near the top of the painting, a little to the left of the center is a solid white circle. Near the center of the image a small bridge extends across the water. There is a branch of land in the foreground extending from the left side of the work, shrubbery and a large tree covers most of the left half of the work, and under the tree are four male figures. From left to right, one faces the right side of the painting and holds fishing pole against his body; one is seen from the back as he bends over a basket and looks at the next figure; one is unclothed and extends his arms towards the bending figure; and one is in the water, bent at the waist, arms extended into the water. Still in the foreground but a little farther back is another branch of land, with a tree and shrubbery. In the branches extending back towards the mountain, five human figures can be seen sitting by the water in various places or standing near the water.
