DescriptionThe image is a landscape of two trees and a large body of water. A calm river flows from the lower left corner toward the right, and opens up in to a large turquoise lake. Two tall trees are positioned on the left side of the piece and are painted in dark browns and greens. The tree on the very left is the tallest and it extends beyond the top and left edges of the work. The center tree does not reach the top of the work. A full moon is visible in the center of the work, just to the right of the trees. There is a section of grassy land in the lower right corner; a small tree grows on this patch of earth and almost reaches three quarters of the way up the painting. Small wildflowers grow on both the right and left sections of grassy land. The sky is light blue near the horizon and fades to a deeper shade as it nears the top of the work. There is a layer of clouds on the horizon line and several at the top of the work as well.
