LEE UDALL BENNION

1956 -
Biographya painter of highly engaging figure works, was born in Merced, California. She is a resident of Spring City, Utah, and married to Joseph W. Bennion (q.v.). She studied at Brigham Young University, and her work is found in the Salt Lake County Fine Arts Collection as well as various private collections. Exhibitions of her work have been seen at the BYU Student Art Show (1977), Bertha Eccles Art Center (1977), Springville Museum April Salon (1984, 1985, 1986), LDS Museum of Church History and Art (1986), "Desert News" Art Show (1986), etc. She and her husband own and operate the Horseshoe Mountain Pottery in Spring City. She is considered one of Utah's best artists and has received national attention through Ray Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona. Lee Bennion's on-going series of female figures contains several delightful stylizations--a certain oval head, a pointy chin, a somewhat enigmatic narrowness in expression, and a very real charm. (b.
